Hi,
I'm running NetBSD 3.0_RC5 on a Dell 380. pretty much a GENERIC or
GENERIC.MPACPI kernel.
With MPACPI enabled, ntpd is not able to keep my clock in sync to a local server
(thi machine is always loosing time),
Dec 19 14:43:29 low ntpd[959]: time reset +1.109391 s
Dec 19 14:43:29 low ntpd[959]: frequency error 512 PPM exceeds tolerance 500 PPM
Dec 19 14:47:45 low ntpd[959]: synchronized to 192.168.37.254, stratum=3
Dec 19 14:50:57 low ntpd[959]: frequency error 512 PPM exceeds tolerance 500 PPM
Dec 19 15:09:18 low ntpd[959]: time reset +1.184001 s
Dec 19 15:09:18 low ntpd[959]: frequency error 512 PPM exceeds tolerance 500 PPM
Dec 19 15:13:40 low ntpd[959]: synchronized to 192.168.37.254, stratum=3
Dec 19 15:13:40 low ntpd[959]: frequency error 512 PPM exceeds tolerance 500 PPM
Dec 19 15:28:48 low ntpd[959]: time reset +0.767947 s
with out ACPI enabled, my clock is fine, with a freq offset (currently) 2.726.
in both cases option NTP is enabled in the kernel.
Is this a known problem? Should I file a pr and/or is there a work around for ACPI?
Thanks.
