I don't know about Edgar's particular machine, but I do know that in
general the FreeBSD folks have managed to get ACPI working on a vastly
wider set of machines than NetBSD' ACIP will work on properly so it
would seem to me that there's valuable knowledge to be gleaned from
their efforts, if indeed perhaps even a good working implementation to
borrow directly from. I wish I had the time to learn about ACPI and
then to study the FreeBSD code, but alas I do not.
