Hello, Environment: NetBSD/i386 4.0, running on Asus P4P800-E motherboard (i865PE chipset; has onboard auich(4).); KDE 3.5.8, arts 1.5.9. Any KDE application that uses artsd almost immediately locks up the system -- the machine does not respond to ping, to Num Lock, even serial console is dead. Anything that does not use artsd (mpg123, mplayer, xine, timidity...) plays audio just fine. I found two workarounds -- recompile without ACPI or install a PCI audio card; I could live with either, but a fix would be nice to have.
