I see that on one of my systems, too, but not all.  I just assumed it 
was something that the BIOS was doing before loading the NetBSD boot 
code, asking me to (for example) 'press F1 to boot disk1'.

Now that you've reported the same message, I'm not so sure.

BTW, my machine is an ASUS M2N-E motherboard with quad-core AMD.
