Re: Panic with VirtualBox 2.1
FYI, I noticed the exact same behaviour using QEMU/KVM 81 and VirtualBox
2.1.0
A bit more information about NetBSD 5 behaviour under KVM :
. booting with ACPI enabled in KVM and NetBSD kernel leads to a guest
crash just after login(1) is executed
. booting with ACPI disabled in KVM but enabled or disabled in NetBSD
kernel leads to panic just after "attimer0: attached to pcppi0"
. booting without ACPI but using the following flag in KVM :
-no-kvm-irqchip (disable KVM kernel mode PIC/IOAPIC/LAPIC)
allows NetBSD to boot, but every single emulated NIC timeouts (ne2:
timeout, re0: timeout, ...)
I use NetBSD 4.0 and 4.0.1 on KVM everyday without any particular problem,
but with ACPI disabled.
