[ACPI] Acer Aspire 1700
Hello,
For a long time, I use NetBSD Sparc. As Solaris license has changed, I
have install NetBSD i386 (5.0.2 and 5.99.25) on an old Acer Aspire 1700
that ran fine with Solaris 10 x86.
GPU's fan works fine. But CPU's one only starts when CPU temperature
reachs 78 °C ! Fan speed is controled by motherboard between 0 rpm and
3000 rpms (I believe). I suppose that fan speed is controled by ACPI
subsystem. But if I boot NetBSD without ACPI, I haven't seen any difference.
As it worked fine with Solaris, I suppose that this control is done by
operating system, but I don't understand why CPU fan does not start when
ACPI is disabled. Is there any workaround or patch ? I haven't found any
information.
Regards,
JB
