6.0_BETA boot doesn't complete

A P4 machine which boots from the NetBSD/i386 5.1.2 boot-only install 
CD won't boot completely when using a CD burnt from this image:

ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/NetBSD-6.0_BETA/i386/installation/cdrom/boot.iso

as shown by the terminal output below.  (boot-com.iso has the same 
problem, of course.)

It works on a Core 2 Duo machine, but when I dropped into a shell and 
tried to create a directory under / it said:

# pwd
/
# mkdir test
mkdir: test: Read-only file system
#

It's possible to write to the root file system with the 5.1.2 install 
CD so I guess this is a bug?

Also, on the Core 2 Duo PC the CD couldn't be ejected after booting 
because NetBSD didn't release it.  Is that the way it's going to be 
with version 6 ?
