The files I downloaded from ftp.netbsd.org match their respective
SHA512 files:-

SHA512 (NetBSD-8.0-i386-install.img.gz) = 0494ae2e160b757e79cd6b8bff8f2834d86dac
SHA512 (NetBSD-8.0-i386-install.img.gz) = 0494ae2e160b757e79cd6b8bff8f2834d86dac

SHA512 (NetBSD-7.2-i386-install.img.gz) = d020712ed3510c4510ac8fb6e49f40afb07566
SHA512 (NetBSD-7.2-i386-install.img.gz) = d020712ed3510c4510ac8fb6e49f40afb07566

They were in /pub/NetBSD/images/8.0 and /pub/NetBSD/images.7.2
respectively.  gunzipped, they look like this:-

-rw-------  1 ball  users   576716800 Jan 29 03:50 NetBSD-7.2-i386-install.img

I wrote them to USB flash drives with:-

dd if=NetBSD-8.0-i386-install.img of=/dev/rsd0d bs=8192 progress=2080
dd if=NetBSD-7.2-i386-install.img of=/dev/rsd0d bs=8192 progress=2080

I believe the files are intact and the USB flash drives are good.  If
my method is sound, it's possible there's just something in the
firmware on these boards that doesn't like our installation images.
