Hi,
today I have come across a 1986 vintage NCR Sys V machine:
M68020 + custom MMU, 2MB RAM, MAXTOR 42MB HD with unknown interface,
running an unknown Italian database application based on "RMCOBOL85" (looks
like some p-code system).
The Customer wants us to grab the data from this system and feed it to a
contemporary database. They have been running the system for four years
without any support from the (probably defunct) software vendor; don't know
about NCR).
Anyhow - afaik there is no NetBSD port to the machine ;) so what would be
necessary to run the binaties on a NetBSD/m68k system?
The binaries appear to be statically linked, so all that is needed is a
system call emulation library, right?
Would the SysV emulation in the kernel be of any use?
Does anyone have additional information about the NCR machine?
Any comments & help appreciated,
hauke
