It is a standard practice to enclose external declaration of sys_errlist
by:

#if !defined(__NetBSD__) && !defined(__FreeBSD__)

and

#endif

(of course, you don't need "&& !defined(__FreeBSD__)" part to just
compile it for NetBSD).
