I recently strung some cable in the basement and tried to hook a Color
Classic up to my Mac II via a Focus Ethernet card (in the Mac II) The
kernel (1.1) recognizes the card, though it incorrectly identifies it as a
32k card where it is actually 64k. ifconfig seems to accept various things,
and netstat -xx reports back that things are ok, BUT. The Color classic
cant see the Mac and anything I do that actually tries to send something
out of the card causes a lockup that can only be remedied with a reset.
Finger, ping, telnet, anything that tries to access the outside world. I
can ping the card, and it works ok, but beyond that, BOOM!

I can understand an unsupported card, and suspect that is the problem, but
the failure mode is decidedly unfriendly, and I wonder if that should be
looked at.

Otherwise, 1.1 is working great (with the scsifix) Thanks to everyone
involved for a terrific effort.

NetBSD - It might be better than free beer (depending on the quantity of
course)
