This sounds like you forgot to build devices in the installer.

It's a number that's chosen to fit into a structure or something that
one checks to see if said structure or something is valid. It's usually
a sanity check. Usually used if there's some question as to whether a
structure might be valid.
There are varying opinions about the wisdom of using them.
