It wasn't file system damage. Just a newbie root user. I moved /sbin to
/root/sbin. Apparently that was what did it. (Learn something new every
hour.)

That doesn't both me. What bothered me was that fstat message. The order
is fine.

Well, after a new filing system with MKFS, and a complete reinstall, it
works fine - i'm just having problems compiling stuff (zsh, perl, apache,
ncsa). Seems something is always already declared...
And, I can't get elm to accept any editors... Oh, well.
