Last night I put on the NFS kernel and rebooted. Worked okay with my
current setup--E-Machines 16" card (doing 640 x 480 color, though), no
ethernet, cache card in. No VM error.
I pulled all of the cards out. It booted off of internal video (used to
break it before). Halted the machine. Put in the cache card (why? why
not?). Rebooted. No problem. Halted, put in the Asante MacCon card,
and it booted no problem!
I haven't tried putting back in the nubus video yet. Internal video is
slightly faster on this machine (according to Speedometer 4.X), but I
lose about 300 precious KB of RAM. I used to get conflicts between the
en device and the nubus vb.
As a bonus, my "three-button" support works now in X.
I noticed this kernel is a bit bigger than other kernels I've run.
Thanks alot for all of your input on this.
