I'm back with good news.  A couple days ago I booted my
Daystar enhanced SE/30 WITH the cache ENABLED!  I was running
a semi-current kernel with mods for cache support I hacked in.

I hope to release a test kernel with my changes sometime this
weekend (Time permitting).  I haven't run any benchmarks, but
the system doesn't feel a whole lot faster.  (This is probably
due to my overly generous cache flushes, and the fact that my
machine pages a lot with only 8 meg of memory)

Once I get it cleaned up, I hope the performance is more
in line with the performance gain seen in the MacOS.
