Except for the ability to switch away X, it sounds like dt will
do all of the above. Except that it doesn't make sense to run
getty on the other screens.

I typically log in and then fire up dt with 6 screens, a few of
which get tied up reading man pages or looking at other code. :-)

P.S. (it should be a FAQ) you need to make more than the standard 4
pty's to get more than 4 dt screens.
