While digging around in my archives the other day, I found my old Macintosh
developer notes.
One of them was "The Macintosh Hardware" which was listed as "Second Draft"
(and dated 13 Feb 85). A total of 37 pages, but much more detail than
the "Inside Machintosh" that exists today. Drawback - only covers the
Mac 128K and 512K.
The sections that may be of interest to the NetBSD/Mac people (other than
the entire developer chapter) are the Sound Generator, the Real-Time Clock,
and the Disk Interface. Also included are the Video, the SCC, Mouse, Keyboard,
the VIA, and what happens at system startup. Includes hardware diagrams.
>From page 3 ("About this Chapter")
"This chapter provides a basic description of the hardware of the
Macintosh 128K and 512K computers. It gives you information that
you'll need to connect other devices to the Macintosh and to write
device drivers or other low-level programs. ..."
If anyone thinks that this will be useful, I'll try to scan and OCR it.
