Hmmm. Did the installer give you a new /etc/fstab in the process?
It might be the problem of the old installer not knowing about cd
rom drives; it's idea of sd2 (possably) disagrees w/ the kernel's
idea.
But if you've got that covered, I have no clue. :-)
