This is just broken, some video cards won't work with ethernet. I think it
is an interrupt problem, but I'm not the one to say. THe old apple toby
frame buffer card will work with ethernet, if you can use that, you will be
able to get things going. Other cards may work as well, but I'm not sure
which ones.

This is being worked on (I think) but I haven't heard anything encouraging
for a while.
