Pretty much right. MacSide does deal with 4.2 fs; though I believe (someone
correct if I'm wrong) what you're looking at with newfs is a level 2
filesystem which could be characterized as a 4.4BSD filesystem.

Well, If you can mount the partition fine, you could just install from netbsd
side. Also, did you say you could or could not boot from the partition; it
semed to me you said you could, but I might be confused.
