I understand that most of you have heard alot about NetBATCH lately. =
NetBatch 1.08 was supposed to be released into beta 2, but it was =
heald back. There are sooo many new features in 1.08, that it was =
almost overflowing. Therefore, the guts of the Netbatch which talk =
to a Netscape Navigator/compatable application have to be rewritten.
This has become quite a task. So, Netbatch 1.08 will be released in =
stages, each one will(or should) be faster and easier to use. The =
first new release will be 1.05, which is designed to not take up much =
processor time, and try to work only when the machine is semi-idle. =
1.05 will not support a timeout feature.
1.04 is the current version, and is completely stable(as far as =
everyone knows). If you havent tried it, as the cheif programmer, I =
suggest you do.
NetBATCH downloads files in batches, automatically. To add a file, =
simply copy and paste the url into the list, and hit "ADD +." When =
you are ready to download, just push "GO !"
Reasons to use NetBATCH:
=80 It's free. The development of NetBATCH is completely funded by =
other means. If this means that you will see lots of banners and =
stuff at the site, it is worth it.
=80=A0 On an average modem it's a 2 minute download to speed up your =
life. What do you usually do when you need to download more than one =
file? Do you keep checking to see when it is done, and then click on =
the next file? Or do you try to download everything at once, in =
sepreate windows. This slows everything down, and takes more time.
NetBATCH takes care of all of this for you! It starts the next =
download as soon as the other one is finished.

=80 Have you ever used a Net install when there is more than one =
file to download? Did you know it is faster to download in segments? =
<actual benchmarks comming soon!>
With NetBATCH, you can download in segments very easily.

=80 Have you ever had to send an URL across the internet with a =
password? Do you ever wonder about anyone getting into it?
NetBATCH is great for passworded URLS, because you cant see the =
password on the screen, unless you use some wierd form of editor to =
extract them. Each file can have a password included, and all you =
can see onscreen is the final entery in the url (i.e.: =
http//mysite.com/mydir/myfile.hqx would only show myfile.hqx)

=80 Get tons of software with premade autofiles! Netbatch users can =
go to an autofiles site and use these files in NetBATCH. Autofiles =
is the name of the format that NetBATCH saves in. There are tons of =
them at the NetBATCH support site.
