Hello all:
I've just installed version 1.2 of everything for a second time. First time
I hadn't reset the memory partion for the installer and it crashed,
corrupting things. Here's what's there now:
netbsd12
base12
etc12
man12
text12
misc12
comp12
games12
In that order, installed at once, using the 1.1 installer.
It boots up fine on a 105Mb Quantum HD in a Mac IIx and lets me bop around
in single user mode, but as soon as run fsck I have problems:
** Phase 1 - Check Blocks ans Sizes
CANNOT READ: BLK 69184
CONTINUE? (I choose yes)
THE FOLLOWING DISK SECTORS COULD NOT BE READ:
(then it doesn't list any)
(Phase 2 - 4 go by all right)
** Phase 5 - Check Cyl groups
FREE BLK COUNT(S) WRONG IN SUPERBLK
SALVAGE?
(I choose yes and it hangs, I choose no and I'm told):
4133 files, 58988 used, 18307 free (291 frags, 2251 blocks, 0,4% fragmentation)
MARK FILE SYSTEM CLEAN?
(I choose yes and it hangs, I choose no and then cntl-d to change to
multi-user mode and then it tells me I should do an fsck and then hangs)
When I say 'hangs' I mean it looks as though it's accessing the hard drive
- because the activity light on the drive lights up solidly - but won't do
anything more. The Light won't even flicker.
Should I just scrap it all and re-install for a third time. I think my
third install of 1.1 worked. Thrice lucky? ;-)
Thanks for any ideas.
