please elaborate on your problem by including the log of the makefile. you
might also want to mention anything special about your hardware, and the
distribution version (latest is NetBSD 1.2)
btw, i successfully compiled bash without any tweaking.  There's no reason
why you shouldn't be able to get it to work (I might not have v1.14.7,
