As others have pointed out, PPP software is stock equipment.  I'm not sure
what you mean by "clients" in this instance.  I do use Pine 3.95 for
reading and sending email, and fetchmail-1.8 as a POP3/APOP backend (I
used Yahoo! to find it, if I remember).
