On my Q840av, I had to set the GMT Bias in the Booter, which caused
these two numbers to more closely match. Look at:
http://www.macbsd.com/macbsd/macbsd-docs/faq/faq-5.html#ss5.
As for a kernel that works, the first one I got to work reliably
(i.e. before I started making my own) was:
ftp://ftp.macbsd.com/pub/outgoing/briggs/for.hans
Another, more recent one, which adds X-windows support for up to
1MB of VRAM, is:
