If you're in macos, you can use the installer w/cpin. Under NetBSD,
there's HFS and then there's HFSutils. I think both are available from
puma, but I'm not certain. I know that HFSutils is available in the
ftp://ftp.macbsd.com/pub/NetBSD/contrib/unix directory.

Native HFS support (in-kernel) is working, on some systems, with the
use of a lkm (loadable kernel module), but I haven't tried it yet, so
no recommendation yet. (When it comes to things involving other ppl's
precious files, I try to only recommend things I've tried and tested
extensively.... :-) If that ever becomes fully in-kernel, in some
form, it would be done simply with mount, possibly with the addition of
specifying the partition type, but again, that's still in early testing,
and does require downloading the lkm and running the program to actually
insert it into the kernel that's running in memory....

Probably in the (puma) FAQ somewhere, but oh well.
