Allen fixed this earlier; it was a cut-n-pasto that I introduced back in
November when coverting the MAKEDEV script.  That one made it past my
usual visual inspection just before committing, somehow.  (I'm not sure
how it made it through my testing, so I must have done that piece at the
last minute.)

My humble apologies for all of the confusion and any trouble this has
caused.
