Hi Bob,

this is indeed a gem. I'd dump my eXodus 5.2 immediately -- if I were able
to run the MI/X server with xdm. It looks like the server evaluates its own
preferences incorrectly: The value of the xdm popup makes it to the prefs
file, but the xserver always comes up with 'none'. Bummer...
