Other folks can help figure out if this behavior is "normal." I can
STRONGLY suggest that you do reboot into single user and fsck manually.
Do so ANY time you have to force a reboot.
One time I didn't. I've forgotten when. I only noticed that I'd forgotten
when I started seeing corrupted and disapearing files.
fsck'ing is like running Norton on a hard disk. When in doubt, it's
usually a good idea (unless things are soooooo fried you should just use
the installer and cpout to pull off a few files and then reformat).
