[mosaic "freezes"}

Just off the top of my head, I tried Mosaic on my P450 (i.e., a bit quicker
than your IIsi).  I took about a half-hour to start, and was dog slow.  I don;t
think you could call your experience a "Freeze"; rather, X + Mosaic is just a 
bit too much for our old hardware.
