i accidently created a /root/.ppprc file a long time ago, which i hadn't
noticed until recently. it was obviously messing stuff up...including my
routing host, which never really caused a problem anyway.

more questions: where would i enter a line of shellscript to instruct my
machine to run a program once connection is established? i believe it was
called ip-up or something, but i don't see it..is "ip-up" automatically
recognized by pppd?
