yup, i had the same problem a long time ago when i installed NetBSD on my IIvx.
regular checklist for boot problems was:
-32 bit addressing on (i never changed this anyway)
-VM off
-Appletalk off (hmm, i wonder if rerouting through ethernet fixes the
problem also. it's just serial interrupt problem, right?)
-color depth set to 1-bit or 8-bit color (16-bit used to hang, dunno if
this has changed or not...)
-version 1.9 of booter used.

by the way, some people mentioned using 1.9.4 of the booter, but that was
the version i was having trouble with...what gives? are there different
"batches" of IIvx's shipped by apple? or does it depend on system software,
etc...?
