It is possible, but under all serial communications it will be VERY slow,
and possibly very annoying. I used TIS's Firewall Toolkit at home, to do
proxy serving. The Netbsd box was dialed up to a 28.8 PPP connection, and
the other machines on my net (ethernet) proxied through the BSD box. It
was decently fast. Serially, you would do ppp from mac to bsd, and ppp
from bsd to The Net. The difficulty here comes in with your provider.
They probably don't give you but one IP per dialup, so you'd have to do ip
masquerading, which is beyond the scope of this email.
FWTK can be found at www.tis.com. It's neat, and free. At least I got it
for free from there.
