Why does what work? :) Why does the above work for making /dev/grf2?
That's just the way the MAKEDEV script is. It'll create the devices in the
current directory, so you need to "cd /dev" in order for them to be in
/dev. And the arguments to the script are just the device names, not the
full path. (Well, not always the device names, but close... for example,
to make /dev/tty00, you do MAKEDEV tty0. And MAKEDEV pty0 makes a set of
16 pty master/slave pairs -- ptyp[0-f] and ttyp[0-f]. Look at /dev/MAKEDEV
for more info :)

If you're wondering why you need a /dev/grf2 in the first place, I don't
know :) I don't know what the difference is between the March 95 server
and the Jan 96 one either...
