Better yet, use vipw and it'll handle everything for you. Many versions
of vipw even allow you to specify an editor instead of vi using a command
line flag. I forget for certain whether the NetBSD version has that
capability or not, but if not, it probably should. (Though most admin
folk will probably say "learn vi" ;-)
