If you're reading this and your responsible for maintinging
the X server for NetBSD/mac68k please note that I am going to
release the first color kernels soon.
I recently downloaded the current distribution and it doesn't
support color. So I figured I could just use an old colorkit
X server...*WRONG* The color kit X servers don't grok the
fonts from the XFree86 disribution we're using. It complains
it can't open fixed (I even tried gunzipping the fonts in
misc and updating their fonts.dir and font.alias to no
avail).
Since wide spread color support is coming soon you may want
to support color. If this is a matter of putting in the IOCTLs
you can start now by using the interfaces in grfioctl.h
found in the colorkit directory on macbsd.com. If it
requires less trival additions I may be able to help.
Either way, I'd like to give you a head start.
In the mean time I suppose I'll have to rig up something
using the old Mar5 X distribution on macbsd.com and an
old colorkit server.
Thanks!
