Congratulations on getting NetBSD up and running on your Mac. I think you
will find it is a lot of fun (and a lot of aggrivation at the same time).
I am not sure about where to submit the HOWTO, I'll leave that one for
Colin.

About PPP, there are some good PPP kits available.  Follow the pointers on
the FAQ.  I have also put together my own PPP howto for newbies available
at   http://bullwinkle.aisol.net/ppp.html

Regarding a way to turn off the computer without rebooting into MacOS
first.  Try

  shutdown -h now

I think 'halt' also does the same thing.
