If you're hanging before you even get the copyright message then it's
probably not an ADB problem. Do you have any extensions enabled when you
boot? Any unusual hardware? What are the exact last few lines before it
hangs? It makes a bit of a difference depending on where exactly it hangs
(i.e. once it gets to the copyright message, it's pretty much in autoconf,
whilst before that it's either in locore.s or machdep.c).

I don't know if it will, but that's certainly a _much_ more recent kernel,
so go ahead and try it, and let us know how it goes.
