I just finished installing the most recent binary snapshot from
ftp.netbsd.org, and things seem to be okay, except:

Sep 30 17:59:37 acheron pppd[1082]: Exit.

I'm not sure what this means, but it's a tad bothersome. I'm going to drop
back to an older pppd for now, I guess, unless someone has an idea as to
why this "looped back" message is coming up. Nothing has changed other than
the pppd program itself, as far as all of this goes. Also, uucp has no
problem talking to that serial port, and another serial port is being used
successfully right now to run SLIP back and forth between my Mac and my
NetBSD box.

Any ideas? My ultimate goal is to get ipnat running, but being able to make
a simple connection first would be useful. :P Thanks in advance for the
