1) I'm not sure that the Booter (or the Installer, or any other part of
any of the free Unixes) will ever be finished. There will always be
some neat new feature which someone will desire
2) You never know, Dave Huang might beat me to the DSP stuff! (assuming
that he wraps up the DMA stuff quickly :-)
3) Actually, my next two projects are both Mac OS based:
* A Mac version of RCS, so that people can Configuration Manage projects,
like the Booter, properly. I have heard rumours of a RCS implemented on
Mac OS, but haven't found it yet, so I may have to code one myself.
Just for fun, my first draft will be in Perl!
* A HTML tool (viewer?) which allows saving a "rendered" HTML file as
both ASCII and Mac OS "Styled Text" (i.e. SimpleText with pictures).
I have tried several different tools (ClarisWorks with several different
translators, Claris HomePage, NetScape, MS Internet Explorer) in trying
to generate the SimpleText file which goes with the Booter, and none of
them do the job well.
