download "dt" from ftp.macbsd.com somewhere.  desktop (dt for short) is a
program that will let you have many virtual consoles on your system, plus
many options involving mouse support, cutting & pasting, and also the
white-on-black option :-)

download the ppp kit from ftp.macbsd.com (look on the webpage to get an
exact URL though - http://www.macbsd.com/macbsd/) to get started with ppp.
depending on what kind of ethernet card you have, NetBSD/mac68k might or
might not have support for it yet. check the webpage for details. setting
up networking is very easy..."ifconfig <ethernetdevice> inet
ip.add.ress.here" will set up ethernet with that ip address, there are a
few more things to add to that line to set routers, etc...there's probably
a more detailed description on the webpage somewhere...
