Sorry, I failed to mention that I am using a IIci with 24M RAM and a 
Quantum 540M MAverick drive (therefore the need for the SBC kernal.)  I 
was runnig with the GENERICSBC #26 kernal just fine on NetBSD/mac68k 
1.2C, but for the reasons stated above, I upgraded.
