Lots of people seem to think this, so it was probably true for older
versions of MacOS.  Currently (since at least 7.5.5) startup disk lists all
partitions and lets you choose.

I have a single disk on my 7500 and three partitions (two bootable).
Startup disk shows all three.  I routinely use startup disk to boot from
the alternate partition when I want to run speed disk on my system
partition.  (Lots faster than a floppy.)

Anyone know when this changed?  Is this related to MacOS, or to running a
PowerMac instead of a 68k Mac?
