I didn't try the SBC kernel; just the NCR GENERIC #55 and #56.  I'll
give the SBC kernel a try.

PS. SLOTMAN kernels also hang on my IIcx at the same point, although
    Paul Goyette says this is a known problem with dirty-ROM Mac IIs.
