Eh? Doesn't /etc/ttys only get used by getty processes? On my system, I
have tty00 marked as off, but its other settings include a speed of 19200,
which is half of what I run on that port for my SLIP connection.

If /etc/ttys is used by other programs, I'd love to know which... If PPP
uses the file, maybe my current settings are the reason why I get SILO
overflows with my PPP connection. (Incidentally, my in-house SLIP connection
gets beaten a lot harder, and it runs at a faster speed, and despite this,
it *never* gets SILO overflows, even when the PPP connection is getting
them while both protocols are active at once.)

Thanks in advance for clues.
