That's more what I had in mind though more clearly said. :-)

True. The thing I like about "PC-LAN" cables is that they have both DB-25
and DB-9 connectors on each end. And you can get 3rd-party cables. At
least at Fry's, a null-modem serial cable and two of those DB-9 to DB-25
connectors was as much or more than the one cable. The Mac cable I saw
(though not at Fry's) had a DIN-8 on one end, and a DIN-8, a DB-9 and a
DB-25 on the other.

Either solution will work. :-)
