There could be a couple of problems.  For some reason, no one had
recognized that we didn't have machine-specific data on the Performa 58x
models until a couple of weeks ago.  This has been remedied somewhat
recently, however.

Both of the above kernels might be too old.  Try getting a copy of the 1.3
release kernel instead.  If that kernel doesn't work, please try one of
Steve Allen's latest from Puma:

ftp://www.macbsd.com/pub/NetBSD/eskimo.copy/kernels/

and I believe that they have the added support for the P58x models.
