IIci's not so fast, but it depends some.

1. How amount of RAM do you use on it?  The IIci has two RAM
banks.  One of them is shared for VRAM if you use the
internal video and must pay a lot of penalty.  That is why
the later models have the separate VRAM.

2. Generally, the old and small hard drives are pretty slow. 
(I used Miniscribe 20MB on my SE:-)
