Hello,
I recently acquired a Daystar 33Mhz 030 Accelerator card with a Mac II.
The FAQ lists it as appearing to work. The machine came with nothing in
terms of peripherals, including disk and ram, so I have no controller
software. I believe it's a 33Mhz 030 accelerator because the morotola chip
on board says "MC68030RC33B" (fair assumption?). The card did not come
plugged into the processor (where normal Mac II processors go anyway)
because a few pins on the card have been bent and would fall off if moved
back to their regular position. Apparently that is why the machine was
being disposed of.
This card looks like two circuit boards which are interconnected via two
plugs that look very similar to nubus plugs (i'm sure they aren't though).
There appears to be another port on the card which doesn't attach to
anything and faces away from the board. any have a clue what it's for?
My question - Can someone provide me with the software needed to drive the
card? I have the hardware, I wouldn't think it's a problem to give me a
copy of the only software that is able to control it...or is it? If so,
I'd go ahead and see if i can figure out a way to get the pins soldered
back on. I don't want to try if I'm not going to be able to use the card.
:-)
thanks,
- a
