Hmmm. The last I tried I couldn't get through initdb. (True for 6.1 and
6.2.) The problem is with NetBSD/m68k, not just MacBSD.

The client side stuff seems to work fine though. I've used it to access a
database on a Solaris machine with no problems. I'm using 6.1.1 though.

I just finished building apache1.2.6+php3+postgres6.1.1. No build
problems, but I want to add SSL before I start playing with the server.

I assume the situation is the same with 6.4, but I know there has been some
cleanup of initdb in order to support the alpha under OSF1 and Linux. No
NetBSD/alpha users AFAICT.

Assuming the error was in initdb then you need to run it in verbose mode on
a working and non-working platform in order to determine which process to
run gdb on. Problems appear some time before is actually crashes. I may
get a chance to do that in a month or two.
